Happy Friday! This episode is inspired by noticing how many, many spiritualists suggest that the physical body is simply 'a vessel' whose physicality they ignore. Completely avoidable health issues, chain smoking, a love of McDonald's, an avoidance of moving towards physical health and fitness: all of this is super common amongst mediums and people who engage in spirituality and mediumship. In this episode, I argue that the physical body - and a healthy, fit relationship to embodiment (and yes, I say this as a disabled person myself) - can be foundational to being an even better and more accurate channel to the spiritual. Our physical body is the instrument through which we 'do' spirituality, be it mediumship, prayer, or something else. Witchcraft itself is a material form of spiritual practice: when we know our body better, when we treat it with love, care, and nourishment, our relationship to spirit and magic can only improve. Sorry, y'all: yes, eating well and working out will give you clearer access to the spiritual.
Read MoreIn this episode, I try to convince everyone to watch sports! Our bodies love to experience stress, and if we don't have a curated, intentional, time-bounded place to release and feel stress, we are much more likely to create drama in our lives and make mountains out of molehills. People stir the pot when they don't have a place to express that energy. There are so many reasons I feel all spiritually minded, witchy folks should engage with sports, and this is one of the many reasons why. Witchcraft and magic can be about changing consciousness at will, and the rising of healthy 'stress' energy can also be something we can direct towards an end goal, magically. Even if you're not a sports girly (as many witches are not, lol), I'd recommend giving this a listen - I just might change your mind!
Read MoreHola party people! In this new episode of The Secrets of a Witch Podcast with me, Sabrina Scott, I start with an update about my upcoming fourth book and second graphic novel, Bodymagic, and continue on with a discussion about how magic, witchcraft, and spirituality are about much more than just paying attention to the latest and greatest full and new moons. If you've been feeling bored and repetitive about your spiritual practice, this episode is for you!
Read MoreWhy release a poetry book about healing from sexual violence and rape almost 11 years to the day after the fact? In this episode of the Claim Your Magic podcast with Sabrina Scott, I talk about my brand new (and first ever) collection of poems, why I'm releasing it now, and how creativity can help us heal from the traumas we've been through.
Read MoreHi friends! I really wish I didn’t have to make an episode on this topic, but I’ve seen a wave of specifically witchy influencers engage in apocalyptic and doomsday thinking. I’m not naming any names, but these are some big accounts. That, and we just had a woman who was an astrology influencer engage in family annihilation over the eclipse. As this line of thinking, unfortunately quite common in some fringes of the new age, becomes more common in witchy, pagan, astrology, and occult circles, I thought it would be a good idea to break this down a bit and give y’all some tips for things to look out for and pay attention to. Stay safe out there folks, and remember: trust yourself above all else.
Read MoreHi y’all! It’s me, Sabrina, of the ever changing podcast names - but I think this one is the one. I explain a bit of what I mean by “claim your magic” exactly - what kinda magic? Aren’t I against magic being used as a metaphor? Well, yes! But there’s more. We also had a big snow storm in Toronto yesterday and I was outside the entire time - I loved it! I end the episode by talking about how snow and really any kind of season or weather can help us learn to lean into play, wonder, joy, and a concept I introduced in my first book, Witchbody: reinvigorated presence.
Read MoreIn this episode I talk a little bit about trends in witchcraft, and do a flash back to my early days of practice in the 1990s. Back in the day, it was thought that everyone had to had a “patron deity” or deities. Now, it’s known widely that there are so many different forms of practice, with many people focusing on animism or Christian witchcraft. I share a bit about the first deities I worked with and why, and how they helped me, and share a little on how my altar practice has changed over time.
Read MoreIn this episode I talk about some signs to look out for when we are distinguishing spiritual experiences from mental health moments like psychosis or delusions.

Read MoreHi my friends! In this episode of the podcast I talk about a trend that has been disturbing me lately… women in their late thirties and early forties positioning their paranoid delusions and psychotic breaks as genuine spiritual enlightenment. That don’t fly with me. Listen to the episode to hear about what I’ve observed and why I think it’s dangerous for the spiritual community and society as a whole.
Read MoreHello hello friends!! You may have noticed that this podcast has changed its name… more on that soon! Anyway - happy 2024! In this episode I talk a bit about the new year and the energy of 2024 that I’ve felt bubbling up, the challenges this year will bring us energetically, and how to make the best of it. I also talk about quiet quitting in friendships, ghosting, increasing divisiveness and tribalism, rejection of multiplicity and diversity, and how we can choose spiritual integration instead of the two extremes of spiritual bypassing and getting sucked into the internet outrage machine and soapbox echo chamber politics. There is a middle path, and we can choose it. Why do people choose outrage? I get into that a bit too, and address the addiction to excitement many people with trauma don’t overcome. Overall it is a jam packed episode that covers a ton of diverse topics - food for thought as we release the old and welcome the new.
Read MoreHi friends! In this episode I share a bit about my shifting traditions around this time of year - from Winter Solstice, Yuletide, and New Year’s to really being able to embrace Christmas itself. I also share some (hopefully inspiring) words of hope drawing from my own journey to healing my relationship to this time of year. If you’re still triggered or mourning right now - it doesn’t have to always be that way. Sending love and bright blessings to all!
Read MoreHi friends! In this episode I talk about why it’s so important for us as witches to not ignore science and medicine, and go get ourselves checked out! We also enter into Sagittarius Season (my season!) and I share a bit about what that means, and how to take advantage of these energies as we close out the year.
Read MoreHi friends! You may be wondering - how the hell do I celebrate Samhain, aka Halloween, as a witch? Whether you’re exhausted and have little energy and not much time to do something, or whether you’re bursting with good vibes and ready to do a million things, I have some great suggestions for you.
Read More“The veil is thinning!” If I had an apple oat macchiato every time I heard someone say that, I would likely explode from overconsumption of sugar, haha. In this episode, I discuss what on earth everyone on witchy Instagram (and I assume TikTok) means when they suggest that “the veil is thin” around this time of year. I explain what exactly the “veil” is, and why some people think that autumn creates the space for more spiritual experiences and spiritual contact. Is it legit that it’s easier to talk to spirits at this time of year? Find out my thoughts in this very seasonal episode!
Read MoreIn this episode I discuss why you might want to connect with your ancestors and deceased relatives, even if you didn’t have a great relationship in life. And I introduce two masterclasses: Ancestor Magic, and Tarot for Mediumship.
Read MoreHi friends! As Virgo season wanes, we jump into Libra season - and one of the witchiest cross quarter days of the year, the fall or autumnal equinox. As the light begins to wane and the darkness takes over, it’s a time sacred to many witchy folks. In today’s episode I talk all about the fall equinox, what to reflect on, how to connect spiritually with this moment, and more. I also invite y’all to a new thing I’ve never done before - by donation full moon tarot party next Friday September 29, at 7 PM EST on zoom! During this collective experience I’ll be giving some tarot and witchy office hours, talking a bit about the meaning of this full moon and how to connect with it, answering your questions about tarot and the full moon, and I’ll be doing live 3 card readings for anyone who donates $75 USD and above. You’ll still be able to attend, learn, and ask questions if you donate less, you just won’t get a live reading! RSVP with your donation here: https://PayPal.me/Witchbody
Read MoreThe magical in the mundane. If I had a shot of tequila for every time I heard someone in witchy land say that, I would be wasted. But what does it actually MEAN on a practical every day level? In this episode I talk about one of these every day sacred places for me: the grocery store. I also discuss how eating, making, and learning about food can ignite our senses and reconnect us to the magic and beauty of all that is.
